Learn how to take incredible sports photos

and get practice during a live game.

Improve your sports photography techniques and get game day experience in our Sports Photography Workshops. In this three day workshop you will participate in a seminar: learning essential camera controls and shooting techniques to improve your skills. After the seminar, our participants will meet at the Tech CU Arena to watch and photograph a live hockey game. Durning some of the games, Canon USA Tech Rep Peter Lee, will be in attendance giving guidance about your Canon Camera, along with some of Canon's newest gear for you to experience! After the game there will be a meet up to review & edit your photos with an opportunity to submit your best photos to the Barracuda for use on their social media!

Workshop Includes:

1. Sports Photography Seminar at San Jose Camera

• 2-hour seminar presented by professional sports photographer Brandon Vallence
• Learn tricks of the trade and essential camera controls for sports photography

2. Shooting Event at a San Jose Barracuda Hockey Game

• 1 - Admission ticket to the game (parking not included)
• Access to our luxury box
• Food and Non-alcoholic beverages
• Canon USA's Tec Rep Peter Lee will have some of Canon's Newest Gear for participants to use!

3. Editing and Image Review Event at San Jose Camera

• 2-hour event hosted by Brandon
• Brandon with critique give feedback about your photography
• Opportunity to submit your best photos to the San Jose Barracuda for publication on their social media and websites.

Your Instructor

Brandon Vallance is a freelance photographer based in the San Francisco Bay Area who  primarily photographs sports of all types. In addition, Brandon also specializes in portrait and illustration features. Brandon currently works  with the Santa Cruz Sentinel newspaper and has been featured in local news outlets throughout the greater Bay Area. His passion is driven by the freedom to be creative while out in the field.
