Join San Jose Camera for an exclusive workshop in the historic Bodie Ghost Town. This once booming mining town with its abandoned buildings and derelict vehicles has become a Mecca for photographers. Normally the park is closed in the early morning or in the evening when the light is best. For this workshop, we have arranged access for a small private group to shoot in and around the Ghost Town during hours when the park is closed to the public. Here is your opportunity to take some uniquely beautiful photos and help preserve what we love– Bodie State Historic Park. A portion of your workshop fee goes to help fund the Bodie Foundation in its efforts to preserve Bodie for future generations.
Workshop Includes:
Mono Lake Tufa Preserve sunrise and night photography
Bodie morning session with access to interiors of select buildings
Bodie evening session for Sunset and Milky Way photography
**Required** Knowledge of how to use your camera in manual and bulb mode, how to manually change white balance, shutter speed and aperture.

Lodging
For this workshop I recommend staying in Lee Vining (https://www.leevining.com/lodging). If you are self-contained camping is possible in the Mono Basin (https://www.leevining.com/campgrounds). I recommend making reservations as soon as possible. Highway 395 and the Mono Basin are popular vacation areas in the summer. Make sure you are aware of cancellation policies when you make your reservation. You should purchase trip insurance for your workshop in case of any unforeseen emergency or situation that requires you to cancel.
Transportation
Participants are responsible for their own transportation and possible entrance fees for park entry outside of scheduled workshop hours
The workshop is limited to 8 photographers and is open to photographers of all levels; beginning to advanced (You must be at least 18 years of age).
Physical RequirementsMuch of this workshop will take place in the field and although the locations we will photograph are easily accessible from the road, you should be prepared to walk up to 1 mile on moderate terrain in the daylight and after dark. Good health and fitness will help maximize your experience. Please contact Paul if you have any concerns regarding the level of physical activity involved in the workshop.
**Bodie is at an altitude of 8,000 feet please contact me if you have concerns about physical activity at altitude.
